  • Overview

    The Financial Analyst is responsible for the underwriting and analysis of new acquisitions and development for Clearwater Living. The Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting the Sr. Financial Analyst in gathering and analyzing appropriate market and financial information to assist the stakeholder’s in Clearwater Living to make well-informed decisions including providing pro forma analyses, investment committee memos, due diligence investigations, market research, establishes key benchmarks and monitor best practices. 


    Roles & Responsibilities:

    • Underwriting for new developments as well as acquisition of existing assets
    • Modeling and trouble-shooting for project underwriting, financing and financial partners
    • Complete IC memos and pro forma models as may be required
    • Work with internal team to coordinate underwriting of asset
    • Ensure Clearwater Living is aware of prospective opportunities
    • Identify trends and developments in potential growth markets to ensure Clearwater Living is positioned appropriately for key deals as they become available
    • Assist with due diligence investigation and activity for acquisition and development deals
    • Market and cost analysis for underlying assumptions related to underwriting
    • Consolidate and analyze financial data (budgets, income statement forecasts etc) taking into account company’s goals and financial standing
    • Develop financial models, conduct benchmarking and process analysis as a data source
    • Improve financial status by analyzing results; monitoring variances; identifying trends; recommending actions
    • Recommends actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses, studying proposed changes in methods and materials.
    • Assist in “look-back” analyses on company assets to verify specific returns


    Skills & Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business or related field
    • 1-2 years of experience in seniors housing, real estate, and/or investment banking or a combination of internship and full-time experience
    • Proficient in spreadsheets, databases, MS Office and financial software applications, especially Excel
    • Hands on experience with statistical analysis and statistical packages
    • Proficient in modeling on Excel
    • Yardi experience a plus
    • Excellent communication skills, including writing and presenting for the team
    • Excellent relationship development skills
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
    • Collaborative working with the team
    • Self-motivated


    Physical Demands:

    • Must be mobile and able to perform the physical requirements of the job, bending, kneeling, stooping, pushing, pulling and repetitive motion
    • Ability to sit and work at a computer for long periods of time
    • Able to move intermittently throughout the work day and between divisions
    • Ability to lift/carry up to 20 lbs. and push up to 40 lbs. as necessary
    • Some travel required
